80th birthday luncheon

A week for my 80th birthday which is on June 13th, 2012, I was honored with a luncheon at the home of Cheryl Baxter. Cheryl, Betty Kelsey, and Anne Kelsch hosted the party for 14 ladies. Each person brought a salad to go with the beverages and cake!  We had a wonderful time.  I was blown away with all the attention!!!

Visit from the Calls

Justin, Jenny, Amelia, Phillip and Everett Call came to visit us.  They flew into San Jose, rented a van and stayed with us for three days.  It was great fun to get acquainted with the kids and catch up on family news. Then they were off to a week's fun in Disneyland before they flew home!  Little Everett celebrated his 1st birthday a few days after they left.

Lynn's 80th Birithday

We had a family party on the Sunday after Lynn's birthday.  Jon, Jan and family and Rory, Jessica and family were back from Utah to join in the celebration.  Charlotte is intrigued with the rainbow cake.

Lynn celebrated his 80th birthday on April 23rd, 2012.  We had a couple of mini celebrations.  Five of us went to Chevy's restaurant on Saturday:Shawn, Robyn, Scott, Lynn and Jean.  We had a beautiful tres leche cake from Mi Pueblo bakery for dessert.

Sunday drive on Canada Road

Jonathan took us on a "Driving Miss Daisy" trip Sunday afternoon.  We drove in his neat hybrid car in the Eastern foot hills of Gilroy on Canada Road.  Just five miles away is this bucolic wonderful valley is another world.  We saw deer, hawks, cattle and wild turkeys.  It was a lovely and very enjoyable afternoon.  Josh and Julia came along too.  The week before Jonathan got some striking shots of a fox family in the same area!

Exodus

Lance and Danielle left most of their household goods in storage in Monterey and stuffed the rest (including three cats) in their car, as you can see!  They stopped by our house on April 11, 2012 to say goodbye.  Lance flew to Texas the next morning, leaving Danielle with her family in Antioch until Lance returns in August.
